Getting Involved with Community

The CMP wants to help Sacramento County residents understand the importance of safeguarding area rivers. The program:

• Participates in local community events, such as Creek Week, the Salmon Festival, and Walk on the Wild Side
• Coordinates with other efforts, such as the Sacramento River Watershed Program
• Sponsors conferences, such as the State of the River and the State of the Sacramento River watershed

Residents, visitors, and businesses in the region are encouraged to actively participate in stewardship of our river system. Always:

• Follow label directions when using pesticides/herbicides
• Recycle used motor oil and properly dispose of vehicle anti-freeze
• Dispose of household wastes such as paint, medicine, and solvents at appropriate county drop-off sites
• Remember, what goes down the storm drain ends up in the rivers
