Industrial Customers
WSCS serves approximately 70 industrial customers. An industrial sewer customer can be defined in several ways, including any business that:
- discharges more than 25,000 gallons per day of wastewater to the sewer
- is subject to certain US Environmental Agency regulations (examples include metal finishers or electroplaters)
Per 40 CFR §403.12(i), POTWs with approved Pretreatment Programs shall provide the Approval Authority with a report that briefly describes the POTW's program activities. Each year, WSCS submits to the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board a report containing information about permitted industries as well as pretreatment and source reduction activities.

Commercial Customers
SRCSD's Wastewater Source Control Section also serves thousands of private enterprises throughout Sacramento County. Our experts work with businesses such as dry cleaners, photo processors,
and radiator repair shops. They help them understand local sewer use regulations and wastewater pollution prevention options.
