New Interceptor Sewers

Sewer Expansion Parallels Community Growth

As Sacramento County grows, the ability of the Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District (SRCSD) to provide high quality sewer service must also expand to meet community needs. Based on the SRCSD Interceptor Master Plan 2000, SRCSD has begun construction of over 120 miles of new interceptor pipelines. These pipelines, to be completed in stages over the next 20 years, will ensure reliable wastewater services for our customers for decades to come.

Identifying Sewer Expansion Routes

After sewer needs are identified, appropriate designs are prepared by engineering staff. The actual location of interceptors is given careful consideration by the District. Options for interceptor routes are often dictated by existing development, available rights-of-way, existing infrastructure and other factors.

Keeping Your Neighborhood Informed

As sewer expansion routes are identified, the staff of SRCSD take care to notify local neighborhoods. We conduct public meetings to provide detailed information about planned construction and encourage public comment on our plans.
