Bradshaw Interceptor
Section 7A and 7B
Overview
Since early 2005, the Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District (SRCSD) has been constructing the Bradshaw Interceptor Section 7, a 72-to 90-inch sewer pipeline that will convey wastewater from the northeast area of Sacramento County, including Folsom, to the Sacramento Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant in Elk Grove.
To better facilitate construction management and minimize construction impacts, SRCSD built the Bradshaw 7 project in two sections, A and B (Bradshaw 7A and Bradshaw 7B) with two phases.
Phase 1 of the Bradshaw 7A extends northeast from the Bradshaw Road/Jackson Highway (Highway 16) intersection, where it joins the Bradshaw 6B pipeline, across Kiefer Boulevard and then north along Happy Lane. From there, just before the Happy Lane/Old Placerville Road intersection, the Bradshaw 7B pipeline extends northeast across open space to Missile Way and Macready Avenue, along Mather Boulevard and across open space to the intersection of Kilgore Road and International Drive, where it will connect to the Bradshaw 8 pipeline. The Bradshaw 7A and 7B projects are just one link in SRCSD's Master Plan to provide adequate sewerage capacity for existing communities and planned growth in the Sacramento region.
Phase 2 construction is anticipated to begin in early 2008. This portion of the project was delayed due to detection of unsuitable soils. Approximately 900 feet of pipe in the vicinity of Macready Avenue on the Mather property is scheduled for completion in late 2008. This final phase will complete the Bradshaw 7 interceptor.
