Bradshaw Interceptor
Section 8
Overview
 |
| Most of the Bradshaw 8 interceptor will be built along Kilgore Road (above), from just south of Trade Center Drive to the intersection with International Drive. |
In May 2006, the Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District (SRCSD) wrapped up construction of the Bradshaw Interceptor Section 8, a portion of the larger Bradshaw/Folsom Interceptor pipeline that conveys wastewater from northeastern Sacramento County to the Sacramento Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant in Elk Grove. The Bradshaw 8 project is one link in SRCSD's Master Plan to provide increased sewer capacity for both existing communities and planned growth in the Sacramento region.
The Bradshaw 8 Interceptor is a 72-inch sewer pipeline that extends from the intersection of Citrus Road and Trade Center Drive, to near the intersection of International Drive and Kilgore Road, where it is connected to the Bradshaw 7 Interceptor.
 |
| SRCSD will use tunneling rather than open-cut construction methods to build the Bradshaw 8 interceptor, thereby minimizing impacts to heavily trafficked areas, such as the busy intersection of Sunrise Boulevard and Trade Center Drive (above). |
