Bradshaw Sewer
Construction Project
Overview
The Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District (SRCSD) has completed the multi-year Bradshaw Sewer Project, a 17-mile large-diameter sewer pipeline connecting the Folsom Interceptor to the Sacramento Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant in Elk Grove. The multi-phase project is the culmination of eight years of work. Construction included sections 6A, 6B, 7A, 7B and 8.
A small portion of interceptor on Macready Avenue between Silver Wings Street and Eknes Street will undergo construction in the spring of 2008 with completion anticipated in the fall of 2008. This area was originally part of section 7B.
In conjunction with the Bradshaw Sewer Project, the Sacramento County
Department of Transportation (SacDOT) widened Bradshaw between Florin Road and Morrison Creek from two to four lanes, along with several additional road improvements. Road improvements that were constructed as part of this effort include:
- Widening Bradshaw Road from two to four lanes between Florin Road and Morrison Creek
- Construction of a 12-foot-wide raised landscaped median along Bradshaw Road
- Construction of paved shoulders to accommodate bicycle and pedestrian facilities
- Traffic signal modification on Bradshaw Road at Elder Creek Road and Florin Road
- Widening the bridge at Elder Creek
Project funding for the SRCSD portion was provided through SRCSD’s connection fees. Project funding for the SacDOT portion was provided through the Measure A 1/2–cent transportation sales tax and developer fees.
