Upper NW Interceptor Sections 3 & 4 - Complete
Overview - Project Complete!
Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District is excited to announce that UNWI 3 & 4 is complete. Construction crews and District staff were able to complete the project on time and well below the one percent of the contract bid price.
The completed UNWI 3 & 4 runs below ground along Elkhorn Boulevard from Bridgecross Drive to Cherry Lane. Crews used a tunneling method to minimize impacts to the surrounding community and the environment.
UNWI 3 & 4 is part of the larger Upper Northwest Interceptor project that will ensure reliable sewer service for northern Sacramento County for years to come. Currently, Sections 3 & 4 are now operational and will be providing storage space during major storms. Once the entire UNWI project is complete, the new sewer line will transport wastewater from northern Sacramento County to the treatment plant in Elk Grove.
