Wastewater comes from many sources in your home, from bathwater and dishwater to every toilet flush. Businesses and industries of all kinds also produce wastewater. After treatment, wastewater is safely released into the Sacramento River.

SRCSD provides wastewater services for its "contributing" agencies: Sacramento Area Sewer District (SASD) and the cities of Sacramento and Folsom. SASD is comprised of the unincorporated areas of Sacramento County, the cities of Elk Grove, Citrus Heights, Folsom, and parts of the City of Sacramento, Folsom and Rancho Cordova.
