Wastewater comes from many sources in your home, from bathwater and dishwater to every toilet flush. Businesses and industries of all kinds also produce wastewater. After treatment, wastewater is safely released into the Sacramento River.
SRCSD provides wastewater services for its "contributing" agencies: Sacramento Area Sewer District (SASD) and the cities of Folsom, Sacramento and West Sacramento. SASD is comprised of the unincorporated areas of Sacramento County, the cities of Citrus Heights, Elk Grove and Rancho Cordova, and parts of the cites of Folsom and Sacramento.
