Target
A numerical target has not been formally set at this time. A Recycled Water
Opportunities Study is currently being prepared that may formalize some long term goals to recycle up to 30 or 40 million gallons per day during the irrigation season.
| Assessment: The existing Water Recycling Facility came online in 2004 and can produce up to 4 million gallons per day. Since that time, recycled water has been consistently provided and used. |

Purpose
This service level represents SRCSD's commitment to environmental stewardship and enhancing the water supply in the Sacramento region through water recycling.
Critical Activities
The amount of water recycling is highly dependent on planning and implementing water recycling projects. This includes selection of projects; mobilizing support for projects; formalizing partnerships and agreements to support projects; permitting; acquiring financing; and design and construction of new facilities. To a lesser degree the amount of water recycling is dependent on operational and maintenance practices that get more water through the tertiary treatment facilities.
