Purpose

This Service Level is important because it reflects wastewater discharge impacts to the Sacramento River and the treatment plant's overall performance, including capacity, operations and maintenance practices.

Critical Activities

Violations can be caused by mechanical failures, operator failures, natural disasters or unrealistic regulations. Therefore, maintenance, operator training and contingency planning, as well as permitting advocacy, can affect this Service Level.

2009 Performance

SRCSD has met or exceeded its target level for seven of the last 10 years. In 2009, there were four violations, but actual impacts to the environment are estimated to be minor.
