Water Wise Pest Control

Water Wise Pest Control

OP Pesticides

Residential and commercial sources contribute Organophosphate (OP) pesticides to the environment. Both diazinon and chlorpyrifos are OP pesticides and are used as insect, ant and roach killers. Diazinon is also found in lawn and garden care products.

Today, there are many different choices to controlling pests, including pest-prevention, non-chemical pest controls and chemical pesticides. The most effective strategy for controlling pests may be to combine methods in an approach called integrated pest management (IPM), which emphasizes preventing pest damage.

Do not dispose of excess, unused or expired pesticide products down a drain. Diazinon, chlorpyrifos-containing products, as well as other pesticides, should be disposed of safely through your local Household Hazardous Waste facility. For more information, please click here (192K pdf*).
